Barrhaven Optometric Centre relies on highly advanced technology and well-trained staff to provide outstandingly thorough and comprehensive eye exams. We are now accepting new patients of all ages.
Your eyes don’t stop changing once you reach adulthood; they continue to undergo structural and functional changes, which can impact your eye health and vision. The Canadian Association of Optometrists recommends adults aged 20 through 64 have their eyes examined every two years or so.
Low vision is any visual impairment that can’t be corrected with glasses or contact lenses. Because patients with low vision don’t see the same way as the average patient, they require a specialized kind of eye exam.
We offer low vision patients a tailored eye exam to determine their best corrected visual acuity and monitor their ocular health. We also provide them with fittings for low vision aids such as magnifiers to allow them to compensate for their poor acuity.
Seniors are at an increased risk of several eye conditions, including age-related macular degeneration, glaucoma, and cataracts. That’s why The Canadian Association of Optometrists recommends adults aged 65 and over have their eyes examined on an annual basis.
Barrhaven Optometric Centre is well-equipped with cutting-edge technology to help us detect eye issues before you notice significant vision loss.
Whatever your eye care needs, we would love to help you. Head to our location on Fallowfield Road next to The Greenbelt Family Health Team.
